Hove College students have the amazing opportunity to study one semester (5 months) of their course in the stunning city of Shanghai. In addition, and subject to application, there is also the opportunity to undertake a Shanghai Work Placement too!
The College’s partner college in China, the Shanghai Culture & Creativity College (SCCC), runs exactly the same programmes in China for local students so it is very easy for Hove College students to transfer to study there for one module of their programme. The Shanghai college runs its courses in English so there are no language problems for students who wish to transfer. But the cultural opportunity is incredible...
China is the outstanding driver of the 21st Century world economy and the commercial world is pivoting ever more Eastwards. Shanghai especially is a huge and thriving economic powerhouse in which the world’s business future is being forged.
By taking advantage of the chance to study a module of their programme in Shanghai, students expose themselves to exciting new ideas that will broaden their horizons and prepare them to compete in the global working environment.
It need not be a frightening proposition either. SCCC’s Academic and Student Services teams understand that students from outside China will need time to settle and help finding their feet. The college is always on hand to help with this process and to make sure that students get the most out of their time in the city.
In addition, those Hove College students that wish to can apply to do a Work Placement in Shanghai with a Chinese employer. This can be a great way of finding out even more Chinese culture and business ideas.
Typically, given students’ language limitations, this will be with an employer that has a significant international presence and multinational staffing. This will make it easier for the placement to be of benefit both to the student and to the employer.
Please note there is an additional fee chargeable for these services.
